Rolling Thunder has been selected to host the 2010, 35th International MVPA Convention. The dates are July 8th, 9th & 10th. The host hotel will be the Capital Plaza, and we will be using the Kansas Expocentre for vendors and display of all the military vehicle. Just some info: they expect to have between 400 to 600 vehicles on display for judging, which will be in the Landon Arena area, another 75 to 100 vehicles that will be for sale in the Domer Arena area. we will have about 400 tables set up in the Exhibition Hall for sales of military vehicle parts and accessories. Move in will be on Wed. July 7th and move out will be on Sunday July 11th. July 8th and 9th will be just for MVPA members, but open to the public on Sat. the 10th. None members will be allowed admission in on the 8th and 9th if they want to join the MVPA. This will be a great thing for the City of Topeka. If you have any more questions, just let me know.

We would like to remind you all of the upcoming MVPA 2009 Transcontinental Motor Convoy. The Military Vehicle Preservation Association (MVPA) is planning to conduct a 90th Anniversary Convoy with as many as 150 historic military vehicles that will retrace the original 1919 Transcontinental Motor Convoy route – along the famed Lincoln Highway.
In 1919, the US Army decided to plan and execute a motor convoy of various vehicles across the country, on the newly-formed Lincoln Highway. In general, the route began at the White House, in Washington, DC and ended at Lincoln Park, in San Fransisco, CA – some 3250 miles and 62 days later. This would be the first motor transport convoy -ever- to cross the United States.
The 90th anniversary of this pivotal convoy will take place in 2009, the 200th anniversary of the birth of its namesake, Abraham Lincoln. The MVPA is planning to conduct a convoy of HMVs that will retrace the original 1919 Transcontinental Motor Convoy route – along the famed Lincoln Highway and in conjunction with the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission.
The MVPA 2009 Transcontinental Motor Convoy will launch from Washington, DC on 13 June, 2009 and arrive in San Francisco, CA some 26 days later, on 8 July, 2009. Some of the Rolling Thunder club will join the convoy in Omaha NE on June 24th, and will drive along with them to Schuyler NE. Should be a great trip. We would love to see you there.
